Hi guys....Do you remember this book? I just found out it was first published in 1962! Just two years after Nigeria got her independence! A lot of you reading this will probably not have been walking the earth by then (*winks) but I do know that some of you must have come across the book and even read it...
Today, we are putting it on our THROW BACK spotlight and yes, you have the floor to tell us memories you have about this book.... The first 5 comments will receive recharge card pins.. Winners are advised to call their parents, grannies or any old folk you think must have been alive in 1962 (LOL) ....

Okonkwo....a hard man but with a soft core somewhere inside.
This book reminds me of my childhood, of me buried somewhere in the library of the school my mother taught, devouring book after book.
The scene where Ikemefuna calls him father and realises with disbelief and pain that Okonkwo will not intervene in his slaughter....I canb never forget that scene.
Neither can I forget when he takes his second wife....that's the first glimpse of his soft core.
The book speaks of a man born to certain principles, struggling to uphold them as the times rapidly change....kind of like today.
